Paul Foreman

Paul Foreman is a highly regarded and skilled field botanist and ecologist with over 23 years of experience in land management and nature conservation across a range of sectors and in a range of technical, strategic and management roles throughout Victoria and many other parts of Australia. Paul has an undergraduate degree in Forestry from the University of Melbourne and completed a Botany Masters of Science in Northern Plains Grassland ecology at La Trobe University in 1996.

Grass ID workshops

North Central Grass ID workshops; hosted by the North Central CMA Landcare team and Trust for Nature. These two-day grass identification workshops in late spring cover the classification, morphology, identification, biogeography, evolution, ecology and conservation management of the common native and introduced grasses of the North Central CMA. The workshops comprise a mix of necessary background concepts and theory plus a strong focus on lab and field-based practical learning activities like identifying grasses collected by participants from their own properties. The sessions include an introduction to web-based tools like: Ausgrass2; Australia’s Virtual Herbarium; and the New South Wales FloraNet. No previous experience is assumed and all notes, materials and equipment is provided. More workshops are planned with the North Central CMA in the future and additional workshops can be organised for your area on demand.
