Improve our knowledge of the distribution of Victorian vegetation and rare and threatened flora 

The Victorian Government manages a number of state-wide vegetation and flora spatial datasets which are critical in supporting strategic planning and management decision at the big picture level as well as local scales. In order to help maintain and update these crucial datasets, Blue Devil Consulting was sub-contracted to undertake targeted threatened plant searches and to assess poorly known vegetation across central Victoria. Expert knowledge of the target regions and species involved was a critical factor to the success of the project. The first part of this work involved exploratory searches in areas of suitable habitat and detailing attributes of all populations discovered. And the second part entailed navigating to pre-defined locations where detailed vegetation assessments were undertaken using standard methods.
